Metalsmithing has taken the backseat lately because Jay and I took on a huge conservation project this winter. We’ve been thinning and burning 6 acres of insanely thick Cedar thicket so we can allow more sunlight to kiss the forest floor. This area will be producing tons of food for our local wildlife for years to come and we are so excited to watch it evolve. The native grasses/plants/trees are already beginning to work their magic and we have seen an increase in deer and turkey activity, already! It has been so much work, yet, so satisfying.
On the days when conditions have been less than ideal to work/burn, I have also been playing lots of music and writing songs. It has been feeding my soul so well lately! Enjoy this lil homemade video of my recent endeavors.
